Sun. morning, Nov. 2, 2010

Hi, Everyone,
Thanks so much for stopping by and visiting my website! I surely appreciate this.
I have been so busy with grant writing, CCAPL fund-raisers, meetings, work, outside work, and more that I just have to stop and take the time to do a blog now and then!

Poor hubby's car sustained some damage last week (front bumber, his door and the pasenger door on driver's side),when he was on his way to work early in the dark morning and a deer ran into the side of his car! He called me from school and I went and got his car (got in through the passenger side door), and took it to the local body shop. The guy there fixed the driver's door so hubby could at least get in and out of it until it gets repaired. They can't work on it until Nov. 29, as they had at least 4 deer-related calls before 8 a.m. that morning, then mine, then a gal came in while I was at the body shop with her van in which her daughter hit a deer the night before. Sheesh! (Hubby is okay, he didn't get hurt.) Because bow season is in, and also the "rut" is in, the deer are really on the move.

Just coming home last night from doing a CCAPL fund-raiser, it was almost dark when I spotted two large does on the side of the road less than a mile from our house! Thank goodness they saw me, turned and ran down into the woods.

Gosh. Hard to believe Thanksgiving Day is almost here! This year has just flown by.

All the critters are doing well. Callie-Kitty and Tigger wake me up every morning around 3-4 a.m. wanting their baby food, or they just think it is time for me to be up! Stinkers! As soon as they get their baby food and dry cat food, they play a little and then go back to sleep! (They don't like the canned cat food and I don't either as it really smells...so they get Chicken or Turkey baby food to add moisture to their diet.)

I've had some more new gals for W.I.S.H. group at work and they are doing better than when they first came in. I hope they can keep gaining confidence in themselves and get a better life and away from abuse and violence.

I had the unexpected pleasure of seeing a gal yesterday at the fund-raiser who used to come into my group sessions. She is doing really well and so are her children. It was so good to see her and the kids, and to hear she is doing fine and has a good life! I was so blessed with this news!

Gotta go for now. Keep in touch and refer others to my website to gain knowledge about domestic violence and abuse. Save a life, maybe even your own!

Take care, and have a blessed THANKSGIVING!
My best to you,
Becky :)
