Sun. morning, Jan. 30, 2011

Hi, Everyone,
Thanks so much for stopping by my website. Sure hope things on this website are useful to you and anyone you wish to share it with.

I have a "fetching cat." Callie-Kitty is really into fetching her fake mouse! Each evening, and sometimes in the morning while I am sitting in my chair in the family room, she brings her mouse to me. I throw it, she fetches it, and brings it back! So cute! Then, if she bats it under the chair I'm sitting on, I have to lift the chair up, retrieve the mouse, and then throw it over and over. Lifting the chair is good exercise for me (?) so I'm not just sitting there being idle.

Last night I tried to retire early. I was really busy yesterday doing numerous tasks, and just was tired. So I went to bed about 8:30 p.m. Well, I guess Callie-Kitty wasn't done fetching! Several times she jumped on the bed, purring, and dropping her mouse by my pillow! I threw it out into the hallway at least three times and she brought it back. I shut the door! Didn't work. She was persistent and and started scratching on the door. I opened the door. At some point she must have given up and went to bed/sleep somewhere. Sheesh. Silly cat.

This winter has been challenging. We are up to 25" so far for January and more coming next week with freezing rain, etc. Although the east coast has had much more, it is still trying when planning meetings, visitations, etc. Last February was when the major snow storm hit. We received 30 inches in two days. Really wonder if that will happen again this February! No telling at this point until the weather guy says so.

Hubby has had one "snow day" now to make up, and who knows how many more to come before spring finally gets here! At least the school has been doing "two-hour delays" and that has been a good thing.

One of hubby's students talked him into being a cheerleader for the basketball pep rally this past Friday. (He used to do this before, but hadn't done it for a while.) Well, I guess he was a hit! He wore his lab coat out onto the gym floor and then took it off to reveal his "cheer-leading outfit" and proceeded to dance to the music of the band! Now I'm wondering if he is on YouTube as he said he saw many students taking pictures with their cell phones! Uh-oh! We'll see if it shows up anywhere, I guess. He is such a good guy and the students adore him. He is a very good teacher!

My sister is still having so much trouble with her dizziness since the car accident Nov. 2009. It is possible she may have to have surgery to relieve the fluid in her ear. Just doesn't seem to be any alternative. She has tried everything. She saw a really known surgeon and he diagnosed her with "Post Traumatic Meniere's disease". For someone who was doing fine for practically her whole life, this has taken a real toll on her. She wants to get back to normal, but this may not happen. She may face a "new normal" as the saying goes. We have to wait and see and pray that the surgery will help her.

Many things to get done today, staring early this morning. Take care, be safe, and be blessed.
Becky :)

Hi, Everyone,
Thanks for stopping by and visiting my website. Tell others about it so they can learn and get educated about domestic violence and abuse and much more.

I finally got over being sick, now hubby is coming down with something, cold perhaps. He usually gets two in a school season.

I've been following the Arizona shootings. What a tragedy! I empathize and feel so badly for all the innocent victims caught up in the shooting. For those who lost their lives, their families, co-workers, neighbors, friends, and those wounded both physically, emotionally and mentally will have a long healing process. There are many scars to heal. I pray the survivors can move forward in their healing.

Obviously the shooter is a very troubled and delusional individual. Not sure how he was able to purchase a gun, with all the requirements needed to get one, but if he was just under the radar and didn't have any convictions to keep him from purchasing one, well, this may have happened. I just don't know how he did it in this day and age when rules and regulations are supposed to be followed. I heard on the news that he was turned down at some store to purchase ammunition. The reason was "What?". If this was the case, why didn't the store call the police or notify the FBI about this and what was the reason they didn't sell him the ammunition?

Lots of questions and no answers. I guess we will wait and see how it all plays out. It will be a long drawn out process.

The whole thing is just so horrific. Yes, we can say, "He is insane!", (especially when you look at the picture of him-bald headed and glaring beady eyes the T.V. shows), but was he really? My opinion, he knew what he was doing and did it. Just like the guy that says, "I lost it" after he kills his wife, children, whomever, but when it boils down to it, he really knew what he was doing. Lots of excuses.

When are we going to hold people accountable for their actions? They certainly won't own up to their actions. What an absolute tragedy all the way around it.

Please pray for the families of those who lost their innocent lives, those still in the hospital fighting to survive, and those who are facing hardships from being victims of the deranged person who changed people's live forever. They will never be the same.

As soon as the winter weather is over, I'm going to try and get some book signings at various places I visited before. So, stop back when you can and see where I'll be possibly starting in April.

Take care, stay safe, and thanks again for visiting my website!
Best regards,
Becky :)

Saturday, January, 1st, 2011

Hi, Everyone!
HAPPY NEW YEAR! May this new year bring you peace, love, resolutions, happiness, joy, good health, and many blessings!

Company is coming down today for a ham dinner, playing cards, playing pool and enjoying each other's company before brother-in-law and his son return to Nebraska and Iowa.

This past year has been one of excitement, blessings, disappointments, and joys.
I guess it all goes with life. We experience those things, but it is what we do with them that determines where we are going.

I for one, will strive to improve myself, exercise more, try to help others in need, and concentrate on getting more accomplished, and being more organized! Especially my office area. It just gets away from me and then I spend a whole day or two filing, organizing, and putting things away!

May this year be a year you take back your life, get away from an abusive relationship, and learn you can have a good life. Many resources are out there to help you. "Take the bull by the horns" and do it. Many have made it through the hard journey, and you can be one of them.

I hope my website gives you the tools to help you. If there is anything you would like me to add to this website, let me know and I'll do my best to do so.

Take care, and until next time, may many blessings come your way!
Best regards,
Becky Conrad
