Hi, everyone,
Thanks for stopping by and visiting my website! I really appreciated your continued interest. I do hope you can pass along my website to others so they can learn about domestic violence and abuse and not be a victim but a survivor!

A sad note: We had to put our beloved Labrador-mix, Clarabelle, down last Thursday. About 2 months ago, she was diagnosed with liver cancer. The veterinarian tried his best to treat her, but the medication did not work. She was 11 years old and we had rescued her when she was 3 months old. She was a very good dog and a delight to have. She has crossed over the Rainbow Bridge and is now running and playing with the best of them who have gone before her. We miss her greatly.

I came across this quote from Ernest Hemingway: 'The world can break anyone, but many are stronger at the broken places.'  I find this very fitting for women and children who suffer from domestic violence and abuse.

Hubby and I went to the family reunion last Saturday. It is a yearly thing, and many were in attendance from all over. It was a great reunion and good to see some who had not been able to attend for several years. Way to much food, and everything was delicious! I took my Potato Salad, and my Cherry-Pineapple Delight dessert. Both were a big hit!

The summer is going to fast! I'm still going into work on Mondays, but the domestic violence cases have been down so far, which is a good thing. I've not had many women in my WISH group for a few weeks now.

Hubby and I are getting geared up for company coming over the weekend. Hubby's brother and his wife, and two nephews, will be arriving on Thursday from Nebraska. They will stay at my father-in-law's house and will be down for a day of visiting on Sunday and some days the following week. So I will be busy this week cleaning, grocery shopping and planning meals! We will have a cookout on Sunday, and I think hubby's other brother and his wife will be coming too. So that will make 9 of us!

I look forward to their visit and having some good conversation, playing cards, (Euchre!), and entertaining!

I have been working on many grant request for funding for the CCAPL. We are trying to get started with our construction of our no-kill animal shelter, hopefully in the late fall or early spring, depending when all the mechanical plans get done and submitted to the State for approval. It has been quite a learning experience taking on this monumental task, but we are determined to get our shelter built to save lives! We have worked on this for 7 1/2 years now, and we are getting closer to starting! We signed with Morton Buildings, Inc. to handle the building of the shelter.

Gotta go for now. Another grant to finish.
Take care and thanks again for stopping by!
Be safe!
My best to you,
Becky :)
