Tuesday morning, 6 a.m. November 28, 2006

Good morning, folks.

We are still eating leftover turkey! But not tonight.

Well, the weather here has been awesome. Hard to believe it is November. I am still feeding the fish in the early afternoon if I am home. I am going to start putting up outside Christmas decorations today after the neighbor and I return from town. I hope to get it all done by tomorrow as the bottom is going to fall out with the weather. A high of 25 degrees on Friday! BRRRR!

Lucy-Goosey, and our Lab, Clara, play constantly during their exercise time. When Lucy chases Clara, she barks her beagle-bark. Then when Clara chases Lucy, Lucy makes some kind of squeaky sound. Not sure what that is! Weird.

Sunday afternoon, after it warmed up to about 60 degrees, I went all around the pond and trimmed the dead stuff. I even was able to lie on my belly and get the dead stuff down in the pond. The water wasn't that cold on the surface, but farther down it was. I did see a frog jump from the plant in the center. Hmmm. Hope he doesn't burrow in the pond plants in the water around the edge. Goodbye froggy! We lost over 20 frogs last year because they did this. Bummer. There are still six frogs left, and I do hope they survive over the winter. I did move some of the potted plants down in the deeper part, and hopefully they will burrow in them for the winter.

Because I have done a lot of photography over the years, (even professionally), I have found a terrific website to possibly sell some photos. I will let you know ASAP when I get an account set up and maybe you might be interested in seeing some of them or even purchasing some???!!!

A friend of mine, who is alsoa writer, submitted a short fiction story to a woman's magazine recently. She received $100.00 for her story! I am so proud of her! She said I inspired her to keep writing when she attended the last author's workshop I had back in October. Good for her! She used to work for a newspaper and did a wonderful job with the stories she covered.

Deer season started yesterday and by 7:15 a.m. I could hear shots coming from everywhere around here! My hubby went down in the woods, and told me he even heard dogs running. Hmmm. That is a little illegal!

Short post today. I have to pack husband's lunch, and get some things done before heading into town with the neighbor.

Have a great day, and I will catch you later, folks! Thanks again for visiting my website.

Be blessed,

Becky :)

Thanksgiving morning, November 23, 2006 & Attitude

Hello folks,

Sorry I haven't been blogging for a while. It has been a little crazy around here. Between hospital visit and doctor visit, taking neighbor places, working, and getting ready for Thanksgiving, it has been hectic. I am fine for now. I have a lot to be thankful for this holiday day. Count your blessings, one-by-one!

I had a great time with my sister in Georgia. The weather was fantastic and we had a great visit. I loved the Atlanta aquarium and the CNN tour, not to mention the awesome places we dined! Riding the "Marta" to and fro was a very enlightening experience. Many different faces, many lives going many directions, not just on the Marta. Interesting.

When we were on our way back from the aquarium, we took the Marta in the wrong direction to return to home. We got off and waited for the next one. While waiting we had the pleasure of meeting a young, African-American woman in a wheelchair. She told us she was going out to celebrate her birthday. She had on a very pretty purple dress and looked so nice. Her speech was somewhat inhibited, but if you listened closely, you could make out what she was saying. Her smile lit up the semi-darkness of the underground station.

My sister and I sang "Happy Birthday" to her, shook her hand, and wished her a great day of celebration. Her name is Barbara.

☺ ATTITUDE ☺

“ The longer I live, the more I realize the impact of attitude on life. Attitude, to me, is more important than facts. It is more important than the past, than education, than money, than circumstances, than failures, than successes, than what other people say or do. It is more important than appearance, giftedness or skill. It will make or break a company, a church, a home.
The remarkable thing is we have a choice every day regarding the attitude we will embrace for that day. We cannot change our past...we cannot change the fact that people will act in a certain way. We cannot change the inevitable. The only thing we can do is play on the one string we have, and that is our attitude...I am convinced that life is 10% of what happens to me and 90% how I react to it. And so it is with you...we are in charge of our ATTITUDES!!” Author unknown.

Have a great Thanksgiving, and rejoice in the days to come of the celebration of the Christmas season!

Be blessed, laugh often, be safe, and be good to yourself.
In God's Love,
Becky ☺

November 12, 2006

Good morning, folks,

I returned from my trip to Georgia to visit my sister and her husband. We had a great time. I think I gained at least four pounds! The weather was beautiful, almost eighty degrees on Friday.

On Thursday, we took the "Marta" and went to the aquarium in downtown Atlanta. What an awesome and wonderful place to visit. The exhibits were fantastic. I took many pictures. I really can't say anything was my favorite, as the exhibition was glorious throughout and I found myself in awe of it all.

On Friday, (took the Marta again), and we went to CNN and took the tour. It was very interesting and the tour-girl was very knowledgeable and articulate in her explanation of how things worked behind the scenes at CNN.

I found the "Marta" (rail system that goes all over Atlanta, even to the Atlanta airport), quite interesting. Thousands of people use this rail system to commute. Lots of different people.

Of course sister and I ate at different restuarants, and twice at one place. The food was excellent everywhere we went.

I did buy some books at Waldon's bookstore, and also met an author on Friday. He was doing a book signing and I bought one of his books about his cat.

The flight down was great, but coming back it was a little rough at times the closer we got to home. Lots of clouds and drizzling rain. Colder too. Bummer.

On the way home, I witnessed an auto accident that happened right before me. Thank goodness no one was hurt, but it could have been a disaster. A young girl went around a guy that was turning left onto a road, and crossed the double yellow line to go around him. They collided and as she was accellerating when she tried to go around him, the impact shoved her car to the left, and the only place she had to go was bouncing over a ditch, missing a large tree, and then her car came to rest in a yard. Her car was a mess on both sides. I checked to see if everyone was allright, then gave the girl the phone number of the local police. Because it was a state highway, I knew they would contact the Highway Patrol. I called hubby on the guy's cell phone, and told him I would stay until the Highway Patrol got there.

When the Highway Patrol officer arrived, I gave my name and phone number as he requested, and he said I could leave, and he told me if he needed any further info, he would call me.

Now it is back to the routines. Laundry, cleaning, feed cats, exercise dogs, feed cats, etc, etc. Father-in-law is coming down today. He usually arrives around noon.
So, it is about 7:30 a.m. and I better get going.

Keep in touch folks, I really enjoy hearing from you.
Best regards,
Becky :)

Sat. morning, November 4th, 2006

Hello everyone,
It has been a little crazy around here and I have been working/volunteering more at the V.A. office too.

The new dog, Lucy, is adjusting well, but boy is she a frisky pup. (Vet says she is about 2 years old. That's what I thought too.) I took her to the vet the other day and had all the necessary innoculations done, got the worm medicine, and had her heart-worm tested too. She was good. She loves to play ball, especially the tennis ball. Clara has a little trouble sharing, but we are working on it.
Brrr! It is cold this morning. In the 20's! It was even snowing Thursday night when I went to the training session for the election.

Hubby and I are going to go and get a load of wood this morning early. He saws and cuts it up and I load it in the truck. I have to follow him this morning and leave my car in town to get all the election equipment before noon, for the general election on Tuesday. Don't forget to vote! It is an honor and a priviledge!

I was awake at 4 a.m. and got up shortly thereafter. The cats needed their early morning vittles as always.

I am going to visit my sister this coming week. I will be leaving on Wednesday morning. I am looking forward to seeing her. It has been about a year since we last got together. She has the whole time planned, and I am sure it will be great.

The second book sales is moving right along, plus I am also selling some of the first book. I have been getting some feedback from different people who have read it. They seem to really like it. That is a good thing.

My cousin called me the other day. It was good to hear from him. He is doing much better and I am relieved.

Gotta go, now.
Sorry this is so brief, but I have things to do before we take off to get the wood.
Have a great weekend.

Stay safe, and be good to yourself. You deserve it.

By the way, check out the new tab on my website that says: "In a Rapist's eyes". Very informative and could save a life! Someone emailed it to me and I thought it was so informative I wanted to share it with you.
Be blessed.
Becky :)
