Hi, Everyone,
Gosh, where has the time and the days gone? So fast, so fast.
Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have gotten some valuable information from my website to help yourself or others coping with domestic violence and abuse.

My supervisor from work and I have had the opportunity to speak on two different occasions. One was for the retired teachers association, and the other place was at a local church. We gave a very informative speech at both and handed out many pages of literature and brochures. They said we did an excellent job. Great!

Hubby and I celebrated or 30th wedding anniversary on May 14, with family and friends. My sister and brother-in-law came up from Tennessee. Our brother and his girlfriend, his daughter and her family, our cousin and his wife from North Canton, our elderly aunt and uncle came too and we had a great family reunion plus numerous friends and neighbors. What a great day! (Our official anniversary date was May 17th.)

The rain just doesn't want to stop! Hubby and I got the yard mowed yesterday after I returned from a fund-raiser. The old riding mower just gave out so he had to go down to Lowe's and get another one. So, it took some time but the yard is finally mowed for now. Sheesh, it was really getting high and so wet to mow. I suppose about July or August it will be so dry and we'll be wanting rain, but for now, we sure have had enough! Hubby planted his first corn about 10 days ago, and then the next day we had a severe rain storm go through. We saw some of the corn he planted get washed out of the garden into the field! Bummer. So, what did remain will probably rot in the ground as it was so cold (42 degrees), and very wet. He'll have to disk the garden again, and replant. I haven't even gotten plants to put in as it is so wet out there! It sure was nice to have a sunny day yesterday, but more rain is coming today for the next six days! Goodness.

But, nothing like down along the Mississippi where the folks there are having such a hard time, especially the farmers who must get their fields planted. The aftermath will be a mess and I feel so badly for all of them.

I am still selling books here and there, and that is a good thing. I don't know if I'll be able to arrange any book signings anywhere soon as many of the bookstores are not allowing authors to do this because some have closed and others are struggling. I have to wait and see and check this out at some point.

I have had several girls come through W.I.S.H. and are doing quite well now. Two of them have set goals for themselves and are attending college to improve their lives. I am so proud of them!

I'm getting ready for the summer off, except for maybe once a month to hold a session if necessary, depending on what comes through the court.

I took a video of our Callie-kitty fetching her mouse. It is so cute! I posted it on YouTube. She fetches it in the kitchen, into the dining room and the living room on the video. She is such a sweet kitty! She loves her fake mouse and lets me know when it is under something and she can't get it. Mainly the refrigerator! So, I get the yardstick and the flashlight, and get it for her numerous times! Good exercise for me! Sometimes she gets it in one of our shoes in the closet, but she always lets me know where it is.

The pond is doing well, and I need to get down into it and clear out some pond plants that are just taking over!

We have registered our place with the Wildlife Federation as a Sanctuary and that is pretty cool. We have acquired two new birds we haven't seen before and that is exciting. One is a Catbird, and his (her?) song is so lovely. The Baltimore Orioles are back, three pairs, and they love the grape jelly and oranges I put out for them.

The dogs are doing well, although we did have to put Mandy down, the old Beagle, a while back. She just got so bad and it was the humane thing to do. She had a good life here for many years.

Gotta go for now. Stay safe, and thanks for stopping by. Great to hear from you as always.

Take care,
Be blessed,
Becky Conrad :)
