Hi, Everyone,
Thanks for stopping by my website! Sure hope you can get some valuable information on this website to help yourself or a friend or family member to learn about domestic violence and abuse and be a survivor!

This past month has been incredibly busy for me. Trying to get caught up on outside flower beds and inside cleaning! Whew- it just is mind boggling at times what all needs to be done! But, I'm so glad the winter is over and warmer weather has arrived!

Hubby and I got another Beagle-dog last Friday. He was abused and the vet thinks he was kicked and beaten. What a sweet, sweet dog! He had to have surgery on his left hind leg as the bone was completely broken in two. The vet thinks he was kicked so hard it did this. Plus, his front shoulder was dislocated and they had to put it back in place. One of our CCAPL members found him on the side of the road, and she thought he was hit by a car, but the vet doesn't think so as the dog didn't have any scraps or anything to show he was hit by a car. So, hubby and I are working with him to make him a happy dog. When you go up to him, he flattens himself to the ground. So pathetic, but I believe we can bring him out of this. He still limps and holds his leg up when walking or trotting around the yard, but does stand on it when he is still. I have been massaging and exercising it daily, several times a day, so hopefully he will regain the use of it. He has to go back in two months to get the pin out the vet put in to repair the broken bone. We will have him neutered at that time too. Lucy our other Beagle took to him right away, and they are becoming friends. "Buddy" is his name and he is slowly learning to respond to it.

Besides all the catching up on flower beds, garden and inside cleaning, work, etc., I've been so busy with numerous fundraisers for the CCAPL! We had a "ground-breaking ceremony" on our land yesterday (May 31st, at 1:30 p.m. and the rain help off!) and it was awesome. We are getting our brand new pole building delivered this Wednesday at 11 a.m. (June 3rd. Morton Buildings, Inc.) and we are so excited to move forward in this undertaking to build the one and only no-kill animal shelter for Carroll County! There is no animal shelter in Carroll County. The building has been paid for in full at a cost of $129,500.00 and we raised the money to do this!

Now the next steps will be to drill the well, and then whatever needs done next as funding is procured, we will proceed on getting the inside finished. Might be another year or so we get it completed to open, but it is a start in the right direction!

Very busy day today with catching up on laundry, cleaning, and planting sweet potatoes in the garden---and hubby is done with teaching school for the summer! We want to go fishing as soon as possible before it gets to hot!

I'm heading to Tenn. in July to visit my sister and I'm looking forward to the trip!

Take care all, and be safe!

Becky :)
