Hi, Everyone!
Thanks for stopping by and visiting my website. I do hope you are able to use the valuable information here and share with others.

I'm leaving for Tenn. Monday morning to visit my sister and family down there. I'm looking forward to the trip! I didn't make it there last summer...to much going on here and also with sister and family moving into a new house they now share.

Lucy our Beagle has a new "Buddy"- also his name. He was a rescue. One of the CCAPL members found him along a road badly injured. She took him immediately to a local vet. They assessed him and found on x-ray his right rear leg was broken in two. Plus, his front leg was out of the shoulder socket! At first they thought he was hit by a car, but he didn't have any road abrasions or any signs of that, so they think he was very badly abused! How cruel! When he first arrived at our place, after the vet fixed his should and put a pin in his broken leg, he would cower when you bent down to pet him, or he would drop to the ground flat when you got close to him. He is doing better now, and even trying to run and play with Lucy. She likes him. Hubby and I are lavishing love on him like crazy, and he is coming around. We have him on a long soft rope when he is loose outside to keep him from going off the property or into the high grass in the fields. He is learning his name and is starting to come to us when we call him. Treats are helping too! He wags his tail more, and the expression on his face is changing. Less fear in his eyes. He is about 3-4 years old and a sweetie. On Tuesday, the 14th, when I get back, he goes back to the vet to have the pin removed and neutered. Then the rehab therapy we've been doing on his leg will start over again, but that is okay. We just want him better, and hopefully he will use his injured leg more and eventually completely. If not, we will deal with it.

With all the rain we have had over the last several weeks, the garden is not doing so well. A week ago, I stepped into it with my wader boots on and sunk down about 4" in the mud! What a mess!
If all goes better today, I'm going to try and till it today. At least it hasn't rained for three days now and has been warmer! Sheesh! Last week we wore jeans and flannel shirts and jackets at times!

Hubby and I have been working like crazy down at this Dad's place down the road from us. First we removed all the bad skirting around the mobile home and replaced it. Hubby had to build frames for each section we put on, and that was quite a job! Now we are siding the huge garage. We will work on it today some and he will be on his own after I leave tomorrow. I just hope his back holds out. He threw it out the other day working on the garage and had to see our Chiropractor Sat. Friday morning. He is still listing to the left a little, but has been using ice on it. He will probably go back to see his Chiropractor on Monday.

I had a really bad case of a gal that was really beat up and abused by her boyfriend last week. She was a mess. She is going to have to have surgery above her eye as he fractured the sinus cavity above her eye. Plus, he also broke her nose, along with trying to strangle her until she passed out. I sure hope she stays safe from him. He has a history of violence. I will check on her when I get back from Tenn.

The CCAPL has finally bought and paid for the shell of their no-kill animal shelter! Construction began on June 4th. and it is awesome! Now they have to raise more money to finish the inside, along with the plumbing, cement, electrical, heating & cooling system, and so much more, but they will do it! So exciting!

I have much to do today, so I will close for now. I'll try to post after I get back from Tenn.

Stay safe, and be a survivor!
My best,
Becky :)
