I finally got over being sick, now hubby is coming down with something, cold perhaps. He usually gets two in a school season.

I've been following the Arizona shootings. What a tragedy! I empathize and feel so badly for all the innocent victims caught up in the shooting. For those who lost their lives, their families, co-workers, neighbors, friends, and those wounded both physically, emotionally and mentally will have a long healing process. There are many scars to heal. I pray the survivors can move forward in their healing.

Obviously the shooter is a very troubled and delusional individual. Not sure how he was able to purchase a gun, with all the requirements needed to get one, but if he was just under the radar and didn't have any convictions to keep him from purchasing one, well, this may have happened. I just don't know how he did it in this day and age when rules and regulations are supposed to be followed. I heard on the news that he was turned down at some store to purchase ammunition. The reason was "What?". If this was the case, why didn't the store call the police or notify the FBI about this and what was the reason they didn't sell him the ammunition?

Lots of questions and no answers. I guess we will wait and see how it all plays out. It will be a long drawn out process.

The whole thing is just so horrific. Yes, we can say, "He is insane!", (especially when you look at the picture of him-bald headed and glaring beady eyes the T.V. shows), but was he really? My opinion, he knew what he was doing and did it. Just like the guy that says, "I lost it" after he kills his wife, children, whomever, but when it boils down to it, he really knew what he was doing. Lots of excuses.

When are we going to hold people accountable for their actions? They certainly won't own up to their actions. What an absolute tragedy all the way around it.

Please pray for the families of those who lost their innocent lives, those still in the hospital fighting to survive, and those who are facing hardships from being victims of the deranged person who changed people's live forever. They will never be the same.

As soon as the winter weather is over, I'm going to try and get some book signings at various places I visited before. So, stop back when you can and see where I'll be possibly starting in April.

Hi, Everyone,

I had a great time with my sister, brother-in-law, niece and her husband and sister's new kitten -Snowball! What a hoot she is! Nine weeks old and full of life and antics galore! What a sweetie!

Went to Cades Cove in the Smokey Mountains and got to see a black bear and her cub. She was in the woods off the narrow roadway. Got a picture but not very clear. I sure wasn't going to venture closer! Bad storm came up while we were up there and we crawled back down the mountain on the narrow road with limbs, sticks, leaves, etc. falling all around us! Scary!

Went out on this beautiful lake in niece and husband's speed boat. I took some pictures of neice water skiing too. Awesome. Beautiful evening for a boat ride.

Ate at different restaurants, and sister cooked delicious meals as did niece's husband on Sat. night. Visited numerous places, shopping malls, and tourist places of interest. Great place to visit. Something for everyone of any age.

The drive down on Tuesday was good as it was coming back on Sunday. Took 8 hours total. Had to put ice on my sciatic area after arriving down there and at home. It is okay now. Tough getting old. Very inconvenient!!

I doubt I'll have many book signings this summer until later in the year towards fall. Too much to take care of here at home (hubby will be attending college-two classes for his Masters) and the CCAPL fund-raisers coming up. We are almost ready to sign the purchase agreement to buy land to put the animal shelter on, but then we have to raise the money for it too. Baby steps to get to our goal of building one for this rural county.

Talked to the director down in Tenn. where sister got her kitten. The lady was very nice and gave me valuable information to consider for our shelter.

The garden flourished while I was gone. We had some much-needed rain and it really gave it a boost. Gotta till it this morning and hoe around plants.

Hello, Everyone.

My oh my how quickly time seems to be passing by. The days are getting shorter, the leaves are coming down, and autumn is arriving once again. The fall colors have not arrived here yet. The smell of autumn is so unique. It has a crispness and odor that is all its own and how easy it is to identify with the different smells of autumn.

Yesterday hubby and I took upon the task of splitting some huge logs he had brought up with the tractor that were near the edge of our woods and we used our new gas-powered log splitter. It is a beauty! One log in particular is at least five feet in diameter. That will be a task in itself to cut up and split with the new log splitter. He is going to adjust the setting of it to vertical instead of horizontal that he used yesterday. I was the "stacker of the wood" in the woodshed. I made many trips. Hubby said I did a good job.

Another log was also very big, but not as big as the huge one that is laying in the field. His little saw quit working so he brought out the "big guns" so to speak and started using the huge chain saw his father got him for Christmas last year. Wow! What a difference that big saw made. He went through that log in no time! We finally quit around 3 p.m. because that is the time we let the dogs loose for their exercise.

The dogs are really cracking me up. Lucy and Woodrow, two of the beagles, plus Clara the Labrador, are "vegetable thieves" as of late. They are stealing green and partially green tomatoes, and also green peppers right off the vines! Stinkers! They love the tomatoes!
I picked another zucchini yesterday too. They just keep coming on!

This past week has been so busy, I find myself trying to meet myself coming and going. The CCAPL meeting is Tuesday night. (I have to get everything together for that, plus an eye doctor appt., putting up signs for the big bazaar Oct. 13Th, taking neighbor lady to the stores, picking up the key for the meeting and a lot going on.)

I was able to procure a book signing in Wheeling, W. Virginia, October 17Th. on a Wednesday at a Barnes & Noble Bookstore at a college. Make sure you check the "Upcoming Events" this coming week as I will have my website fella post it as soon as I get all the details.

I am hoping a lady that used to come to my W.I.S.H. sessions will be able to attend the book signing as I have not seen her in over a year, since she moved to W. Virginia. We do keep in touch by email, and I let her know the other day I will be there. Sure hope she can make it. It will be good to see her. I am so proud of her. She left her abusive relationship, moved away, and found a really nice fellow who treats her wonderfully. She deserves it so much as so many do.
I do believe they got married last year also.

I have to get on the phone and see if I can have more book signings where ever I can before the weather turns and gets nasty.

I tried to do a website for the CCAPL on www.freewebs.com but something is amiss and it is not showing up when I do a "search" for us. They advertise they have over 17 million websites, and I sure do not have the time to search through all of them to see where we are! I just may have to have my website guy come out and help me with it. Bummer.

I thought of making one for myself and my books, but if it is going to be so much trouble, I don't know if it will be worth it. Plus, keeping up with it might be a challenge also. I'm still working on the www.Authornation.com website too. I am having trouble uploading images of my books, and I recently heard from their webmaster that the images I tried to download were too small and blurry. Now I have to wait to hear from Infinity and they are going to send me better images to upload, I guess.

Today I have to mow the yard as soon as it dries out some. Hubby has two tests to make for school and he is going to try and get those done this morning. When his Dad comes, maybe Dad can help him split more logs. I am going to try and take some signs in for the bazaar and put them up at strategic places.

I sure am looking forward to my up-coming book signings at Border's and Barnes & Noble. The Lord is good and has allowed more doors to open for me and it is so awesome this has happened for me. "Praise God from whom all blessings flow!"
