Hi, Everyone,

"OCTOBER IS DOMESTIC VIOLENCE AWARENESS MONTH." "Learn all you can to save a life-possibly even your own!"

Gosh. Where does the time go? It just seems to fly by each day. I've been wanting to do my blog for some time but much has deterred me from it.

First of all, thanks to all who have stopped and visited this past month. I know some of you have read my books and I'm so glad you liked them and also have learned some things from them to help you. You have no idea how much it warms my heart that a book written from my own experiences could help someone else have and get a better life without lies, deception, abuse and violence against them. Some people will never understand but they haven't been there, but those that have, will. Just go for it!

The hummingbirds are gone as are some of the other summer song birds. The darling little Chick-a-Dee's are being quite voicefull now visiting the feeders daily. The Yellow Finches have almost gone through their color changes for winter, and "Wilbur-Wilma" the Chipmunk, is still gathering corn and sunflower seeds for winter. Where exactly he/she is storing them is beyond me.

I've been so busy with the CCAPL and fund-raising activities one after the other. Plus, a dear friend of mine had to have arthroscopic knee surgery on her right knee at the Cleveland Clinic, so another friend of ours and myself took her up there a couple weeks ago for that. She is getting along really well and goes back on Oct. 28 for a re-check. She is in her 70's and lives alone. Very, very independent and has five cats she has rescued. Great lady and she has a lot of grit and determination!

Hubby and I have been bringing up wood from our woods for the fireplace downstairs for the winter. Today he is going to cut up the logs to prepare them for splitting with the log splitter and I will be helping. Not sure when we will use the log splitter as we have company coming from out-of-state (his lawyer-brother from Missouri), on Sunday all day and with his Dad of course.

I'm meeting my friend this morning at McDonald's for breakfast at 8 a.m. and then back to help hubby with wood. Meetings this week and back to Cleveland on Thursday. Time sure is flying by. At some point I need to take all my summer decorations outside (birdhouses, etc.) inside the garage for winter storage and plant some bulbs I ordered that came three weeks ago and I haven't planted them yet!

I did manage to visit my Aunt on Wednesday and we met my brother and his girlfriend at the Chinese Buffet Restaurant. Then we went to see his new condo and then off to see hers. Very nice places. They are getting ready to go winter in Florida and it was great to see them before they left. I know my Aunt enjoyed the visit. Brother and girlfriend are stopping on the way to Florida to see our sister in Tennessee. That will be a nice visit for them.

Okay. Gotta go now. More catching up to do with other things before I head out the door later.
Take care all, and thanks again for stopping by. Great to hear from you too! Keep in touch.
My best regards,
Becky :)

Fri. morning, September 5, 2008

Hi, Everyone,

Between finally getting the lawn mowed, (as hubby got the mower fixed),week-whacking,CCAPL stuff, working on the 2007 CCAPL financial books for the Attorney General's office application, phone calls for volunteers, working at fund-raisers, (another one tomorrow), meetings, garden, neighbors, checking on more places for book signings, loading and unloading the car, etc., it has been a busy two weeks for me.

I really enjoyed my time at the Waldenbooks Bookstore in Strongsville. Wow! What a huge and beautiful mall. The Manager, Tony, and his staff that I met, Karen and Jennifer, were all very nice and helpful. I talked to a lot of people that day, and handed out numerous papers on D.V. and abuse. I have been blessed to have some of the people I met and talked to, email me already! (Tony is letting me go back November 15 to the store.)

I put together more information for you to pass on and let anyone be aware to learn more about domestic violence and abuse. There is a little flashing thing that says: *New" so check it out. The more you can learn the less chance you will become a victim.

This is going to be short today as I have a lot to get done today for tomorrow's CCAPL fund-raiser.

Stay safe. Thanks for stopping by! Be blessed. Pass on the new information or let others now about it, please!

Thanks everyone,
Becky :)

Wed. July 2nd, 2008 - The sun is shining!

Hi, Everyone,

Thanks for stopping by and visiting! I appreciate it so much.

I have been really busy with trying to get things done and organized. The CCAPL had a big meeting last night, and after it was all said and done, explained and gone over, the Board of Directors met after the meeting and voted to cancel the Purchase Agreement on the 24 acres we wanted to get. It is disappointing, but because ODOT said we can't put an entrance to the property off of their State Route for safety reason, but instead want us to put an entrance from a side road into the property, (very expensive), we voted not to go ahead with it. One of the contingencies in the P.A. was that approval had to be from the State Highway to put an entrance to the property off of the State Route. We tried. Another property will become available I'm sure. We sure learned a lot in this experience and at least have some concept of what we need to do, have things in order and ready for the next time. Learning lessons. We are all a little more knowledgeable now, and that will be a plus for us in the future.

We had over five inches of rain in our gauge from all of the many storms last week. Just Sunday alone produced at least seven storms. Good grief. I'm going to try and mow the yard today, even though it is still fairly wet. It's either that or hubby will have to get out the brush-hog and do it. We are fortunate we are not in the lower-lying areas as their ground is so saturated it is unreal.

I'm trying to get a book signing at Carnation Mall in Alliance, Ohio, and possibly one in Kentucky. I'll sure let you know when it happens.

Hubby's brother and his two boys are coming in from out west this week. We are looking forward to seeing all of them.

This Saturday I am going to a 91st birthday celebration for my only living Aunt. I will get to see cousins I haven't seen in many years, and also my brother and possibly my only living Uncle from Marietta and his sweet wife.

The following week, my sister, her husband, their daughter from Tenn., and their son will be coming up here for a visit. We haven't seen my nephew for almost five years. He has been living in China. It will be a great reunion and I'm looking forward to it immensely. Then on Saturday, I'm going to my other niece's house for a family get-together. Lots of pictures to take!

Lots to get done today, so I will post ASAP again soon.
I appreciate all of you so much, and thanks for the emails. I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Stay safe, be blessed, and have a safe holiday- July 4th!
My best regards,
Becky :)
